Ideas Anyone?

Soo... As some of you may have noticed mechanical pencil (and colored pencil) is my favorite medium for drawing. BUT, does anyone have any quick and easy ideas to keep the pencil from smearing all over the page? as you can see in some of my pictures that's a real problem. I've tried the whole putting paper under your hand but I tend to draw so dark that it doen't make a differnce.
